The Tummy Tub® is designed for ease of use, making bath time a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for both you and your baby. Here's a quick guide on how to use it: **Before You Start:** * **Prepare Your Space:** Choose a safe and stable surface for the Tummy Tub®, such as the floor or a sturdy countertop. Ensure the area is free from any hazards. * **Gather Supplies:** Have your baby's towel, a clean nappy, and any bath products you plan to use within easy reach. **Filling the Tummy Tub®:** * **Temperature Check:** The Tummy Tub® is designed to maintain the water temperature for a good length of time. It's still crucial to check the water temperature with your elbow or a thermometer to ensure it's comfortably warm, not too hot or too cold for your baby. A good temperature is usually around 37°C (98.6°F). * **Fill with Water:** Fill the Tummy Tub® with about 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) of warm water. You don't need to fill it very high, as the design of the Tummy Tub® cradles your baby securely. **Using the Tummy Tub®:** * **Gently Place Your Baby In:** Hold your baby securely and gently lower them feet-first into the Tummy Tub®. The unique, ergonomic shape of the Tummy Tub® is designed to support your baby in a natural, foetal-like position, which can be very soothing for them. * **Secure but Gentle Grip:** As your baby sits in the Tummy Tub®, you can support them with one hand, gently holding their upper body or arm. The Tummy Tub®'s design should allow them to sit comfortably without needing extensive support. * **Washing:** Use a soft washcloth and a mild baby soap to gently wash your baby. The water level is designed to keep your baby's chest and tummy warm, which can help prevent them from getting cold. * **Enjoy the Experience:** Many babies find the enclosed space and warm water of the Tummy Tub® very calming and reassuring, reminiscent of being in the womb. This can make them more relaxed during bath time. **After the Bath:** * **Lift Out Carefully:** Gently lift your baby out of the Tummy Tub® with one hand supporting their body. * **Wrap and Dry:** Immediately wrap your baby in a soft towel and gently pat them dry. * **Dress and Comfort:** Dress your baby in clean clothes and nappy. **Important Safety Notes:** * **Never Leave Unattended:** As with any bath, **never, ever leave your baby unattended** in or around water, even for a second. * **Stable Surface:** Always place the Tummy Tub® on a stable, flat, and non-slip surface. * **Water Temperature:** Always check the water temperature before placing your baby in the bath. * **Depth of Water:** Do not overfill the Tummy Tub®. The recommended water level is sufficient. The Tummy Tub® is a wonderfully compact and effective bathing solution that can be particularly beneficial for newborns and smaller babies, offering a sense of security and comfort.

Bath time is a special moment to cherish, a chance to play, bond and give your baby the care and attention he or she deserves. Follow these simple steps to ensure that you and your little one enjoy the Tummy Tub® to the fullest.

Step 1: Preparation

Make sure you have everything you need on hand:
a clean Tummy Tub®, a soft towel and safe baby products. Wash your hands thoroughly and fill the Tummy Tub® with water from 37°C to the recommended water level (13 cm from the bottom). This is about 4.5 litres of water.

Check the temperature with your elbow – the water should be pleasantly warm, not too hot or cold. Make sure the water just covers your baby’s shoulders as they sit. If necessary, adjust the amount of water.

Tip: Always keep everything you need, such as clothes and a cloth, within easy reach.
