The Tummy Tub® is designed for easy and safe bathing for babies. Here’s how to use it: **1. Prepare the Tummy Tub:** * **Clean:** Ensure the Tummy Tub is clean before each use. * **Water Temperature:** Fill the Tummy Tub with warm water. A good temperature is around 37°C (98.6°F), which is similar to body temperature. You can test this with your elbow or a bath thermometer to ensure it's not too hot. **2. Position Your Baby:** * **Sit Comfortably:** Sit on the floor or a low stool near the Tummy Tub. * **Gentle Placement:** Gently place your baby into the Tummy Tub. Their bottom should rest comfortably at the base of the tub, and their legs will dangle over the sides. The unique bucket shape allows them to be held in a more natural, upright, and fetal position, which can be very calming for newborns. **3. Hold and Wash:** * **Support:** Use one arm to support your baby's head and neck, holding them securely under the arms. * **Wash Gently:** With your other hand, you can gently wash your baby. Use a soft washcloth and mild, baby-safe soap or cleanser. Focus on cleaning their face, body, and diaper area. **4. Rinse:** * **Clean Water:** You can use a small cup or jug to gently pour clean, warm water over your baby to rinse off soap. **5. Remove Your Baby:** * **Lift Carefully:** Carefully lift your baby out of the Tummy Tub, supporting their head and neck. **6. Dry and Dress:** * **Pat Dry:** Wrap your baby in a soft towel and gently pat their skin dry. Pay attention to any creases or folds. * **Dress:** Dress your baby in clean clothes. **Key Benefits and Tips for Using the Tummy Tub®:** * **Calming Effect:** The upright, womb-like position can be very comforting and relaxing for babies, especially newborns who may find it easier to adjust to bath time than in a traditional, flat infant tub. * **Safety:** The Tummy Tub's design prevents your baby from sliding down, and the rounded edges offer a safe bathing experience. You can also place it on a stable, non-slip surface for added security. * **Water Conservation:** It uses less water than a standard bathtub. * **Portability:** It's lightweight and easy to move around. * **For Preemies:** Many parents find the Tummy Tub particularly beneficial for premature babies due to its comforting and secure design. **Important Considerations:** * **Never leave your baby unattended** in the bath, not even for a second. * **Always test the water temperature** before placing your baby in the tub. * **Have everything you need** (towel, soap, clean clothes) within arm's reach before you start. * **Supervise closely** and be gentle with your baby. The Tummy Tub® offers a unique and often very effective way to bathe your baby, promoting a sense of security and peace for both parent and child.

Bath time is a time for nurturing, playing, bonding, and pampering.

Bath time is a special moment to cherish, a chance to play, bond, and give your baby the care and attention they deserve. Follow these simple steps to ensure you and your little one enjoy the Tummy Tub® to the fullest.

Step 1: Preparation

Make sure you have everything you need on hand:
a clean Tummy Tub®, a soft towel, and safe baby products. Wash your hands thoroughly and fill the Tummy Tub® with water from 37°C to the recommended water level (13 cm from the bottom). This is about 4.5 liters of water.

Check the water temperature with your elbow. It should feel comfortably warm, not too hot or cold. Make sure the water comes up to your baby's shoulders when they are sitting. Adjust the water level if needed.

Tip: Always keep everything you need, like clothes and a cloth, within easy reach.

Step 2: Safely getting into the bathtub

Hold your baby firmly under the armpits and buttocks while supporting the head with your fingers. Slowly and gently lower your little one into the water. Make sure they are comfortable, with their feet lightly touching the wall of the Tummy Tub®. This makes them feel safe and secure.

Step 3: Washing

Support your baby's head by placing your hand under their chin. Use your free hand to gently wash your baby. For hard-to-reach areas, you can lightly lift your baby for a moment. Ensure this process is calm and relaxed.

Step 4: Safely getting out of the bath

The Tummy Tub® allows your baby to completely relax. The warm water can help relieve any cramps and offers a moment of skin-to-skin contact. When the bath is finished, gently lift your baby out of the Tummy Tub®. Still support the head with your fingers and immediately wrap your little one in a soft towel. Dry them well before dressing them.

Please pay attention to these important points!
